Coming in October 2010:

Join us on Thursday, October 14th for the Financial Services Local Interest Group (FS LIG) Meeting. Presentation begins at 5:00 at the Engineer's Society of Western Pennsylvania. Stan Polsky is our guest speaker on the topic of “Managing Big Budget Projects.”

Biography:  Stan Polsky, P.E. is founder and president of EPMOD, Inc. (http://www.epmod.com/),  a Pittsburgh-based firm specializing in organizational development and business management. Stan rose to a senior position in the United States Steel’s Headquarters Engineering group during his 23 year career there. Stan successfully served as a management consultant and unofficial coordinator on the design and construction of integrated steel plants in Spain and in Taiwan for USS Engineers and Consultants.  Stan served as a Past President of the Pittsburgh Chapter of Project Management Institute.  With EPMOD, Stan provided consulting and training in the US and abroad to organizations in both the public and private sectors, including assignments in Africa with Catholic Relief Services. For 15 years at the International Management Development Institute at the University of Pittsburgh, Stan served as an instructor, funded by USAID, to Project Leaders of large development projects.

Executive Summary:

Network Centric Management (NCM), a leading edge concept will be presented. NCM, in conjunction with a structured communication network will dramatically improve communication and collaboration on big budget projects, and will significantly reduce project duration and cost.  This concept will facilitate horizontal and vertical teamwork among key holders of responsibility involving disparate organizations and teams with dispersed members while making sure that the pursuit of customer commitments remains aligned with strategic business objectives.
