One of my favorite parts of the PMI Pittsburgh Professional Development Day was seeing our project management community come together in person. In a world where so much of our work happens through screens, busy calendars, and remote meetings, there was something refreshing about stepping away from the day to reconnect with fellow project professionals. The Duquesne University Power Center was a beautiful backdrop for the event, and the people really made the day. From conversations over coffee to catching up between sessions and meeting someone new, there were so many opportunities to connect, share ideas, and enjoy the relationships that make our PMI Pittsburgh community special.

We also had an incredible group of speakers who brought fresh ideas, experience, and perspective to the day. There was plenty to learn and take back to our teams and projects, but I think professional development is about more than what we write down in our notebooks. Sometimes we need the chance to step away from the day to day, recharge, and spend time with people who understand the work we do. For me, PDD was a great reminder that while technology allows us to stay connected, there is still something meaningful about being in the same room, having a real conversation, and reconnecting with the friendships that strengthen our professional community.
