Hello everyone! I just have a few things for you this month. First, I want to thank all the volunteers who helped make our Triathlon a huge success. There are too many folks to thank individually but I do want to thank Deb Foote who was our PM on this project. Thanks Deb!! We had three schools participate and I know everyone had an amazing time. Congratulations to Marquette University, they were the big winners this year.

This weekend is the PMI Region 4 meeting. It is being held in Detroit MI. Valerie Carpenter and I will be attending. I know we will come back with some great information from the other chapters in our region. Checkout our social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook) as I will be sharing some pics with you. Looking forward, we are planning to try something new for our last meeting before the summer break. We will be hosting our June chapter meeting at Chatham University’s Eden Hall Campus. We hope you can join us in Gibsonia for this exciting meeting. If Gibsonia is too far for you to travel don’t worry, we will broadcast the meeting to the other locations.

The last thing to share with you. We are in the very early stages of working with one of founding chapter members and PMI Fellow, Fred Arnold. Fred is working on a social project that will be announced in the coming months. This will be an opportunity for our PMI chapter members to give back to high school students in an economically distressed community. I will have more details for you soon. This is a huge opportunity for our chapter, and I know I can count on you to help make it a success. More to come!!

Now I want to introduce you to another new board member Heidi Pastirik.

Heidi Pastirik, your new VP Governance - I have been involved with PMI for 14 years and the Pittsburgh chapter for 11 years. Upon moving back to Pittsburgh, I found our chapter to offer fantastic growth and networking opportunities, and immediately saw the value in volunteering. I became the first VP of Outreach and was fortunate to work with a great group of volunteers.  The Outreach team grew from just a handful to over 50 by the end of my two terms. We developed many new chapter offerings for members to network and earn PDUs outside of the downtown area including lessons learned sessions, hands on workshops, networking mixers and coffee talks. I look forward to again serving the chapter in my new role, ensuring the highest value proposition of chapter services to members!

Outreach Volunteer Opportunities

Company Coordinators

Your PMI chapter wants to increase the value to the companies that sponsor our members. Part of that effort is to help identify how we can best add value within member companies and raise member awareness of educational opportunities. To meet that objective, the position of Company Coordinator serves as a key volunteer for our member companies. This entails a minor commitment and offers PDU’s for participation.

If you are interested please send your name, company, and contact info to for more information. We look forward to partnering with you.
