2019 INTERCOLLEGIATE PROJECT MANAGEMENT TRIATHLON
Purpose/Objective: The PMI Pittsburgh Chapter Intercollegiate Project
Management Triathlon (IPMT) is an undergraduate level competition that challenges
competitors PMBOK Knowledge and Practical Teamwork.
Two competitive events showcase participants PMBOK Knowledge, including:
- The Team Quiz Bowl:
Teams of four students compete in a Jeopardy-style event. All questions are based upon
PMIs A Guide to the Project Management of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) at a difficulty
level equivalent to that necessary to achieve PMIs Certified Associate in Project
Management (CAPM) designation. However, unlike the CAPM Examination in which
questions are all multiple choice, IPMT Questions are fill-in-the-blank or short
answer format.
- The Individual All-Star Quiz Bowl:
Also a Jeopardy-style event,
but exclusively for individuals. It follows a similar format to the Team Quiz
Bowl. Individual participants are selected based upon the degree of knowledge
demonstrated in the team events. All Quiz Bowl answers shall be judged by a group
of Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Judges, who are volunteers of
the PMI Pittsburgh Chapter.
The third competitive event showcases participants Practical Teamwork:
- The Student Challenge Activities:
This competitive event involves team-building activities that challenge both physical and mental dexterity. Participation in
these activities, which also provide the opportunity to relax and have fun, will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the top competing Team Members.
