Project Management at the Edge: AI, Hybrid Delivery & The Human Experience PMI Pittsburgh – Professional Development Day 2026 Call for Speaker Proposals – September 22, 2026  
 
Speaker Proposal Invitation PMI Pittsburgh’s 2026 Professional Development Day will explore the most urgent and high‑impact forces shaping the future of project management. We invite you to submit a proposal for in‑person or virtual sessions aligned to one or more of the trending themes below. These topics reflect what project professionals are discussing most across LinkedIn, PMI communities, and global trend reports. 

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Project Management AI continues to dominate industry discourse, with PMs looking for practical ways to leverage predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and AI‑driven decision support. Sessions in this track may address real‑world applications, risks, governance, or the evolving role of the AI‑augmented project manager. Example Focus Areas:
  • Practical AI use cases in scheduling, risk, reporting, and resource planning
  • Predictive analytics and data‑driven decision making
  • AI ethics, governance, and organizational readiness
  • How AI is reshaping PMOs and delivery models

 

2. Hybrid Project Management (Agile + Predictive) Organizations are increasingly adopting hybrid delivery to navigate real‑world complexity. This theme focuses on how PMs tailor their approach, integrate governance across models, and design fit‑for‑purpose delivery strategies that balance agility with control. Example Focus Areas:
  • Hybrid frameworks and decision‑making models
  • Practical tools for navigating agile + waterfall environments
  • Portfolio, reporting, and governance implications
  • Scaling hybrid delivery across teams and business units

 

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Stakeholder communication remains one of the most frequently cited root causes of project success or failure. This theme explores advanced techniques for influencing, communicating effectively, and building strong relationships across complex, distributed environments. Example Focus Areas:
  • Engaging overloaded or resistant stakeholders
  • Communication strategy design and integration
  • High‑impact storytelling for project professionals
  • Managing expectations across virtual, hybrid, and global teams

 

4. Project Manager Workload, Burnout & Stress As complexity and delivery demands rise, project managers are reporting significantly increased workloads and burnout. This theme focuses on human sustainability, effective workload management, and systemic solutions to support teams in high‑pressure environments. Example Focus Areas:
  • Techniques for reducing overload and managing competing priorities
  • Organizational and portfolio‑level contributors to burnout
  • Resilience‑building practices for PMs and teams
  • Creating psychologically safe and sustainable delivery cultures
