Project Management Institute (PMI)’s PMI Certified Professional in Managing AI (PMI‑CPMAI)™ certification is a credential designed to equip professionals to lead and manage AI projects throughout the full AI lifecycle - from defining business needs and data preparation, to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing governance. The certification emphasizes structured project management methods tailored for AI’s unique challenges: handling messy data, managing iterative development cycles, ensuring ethical and compliant implementations, and aligning AI initiatives with business goals.
Eliz Tchakarian is an experienced project manager with over a decade in educational publishing and EdTech. Beginning her career as a language educator and editor, she advanced through senior and developmental editorial roles and has managed large-scale print and digital programs since 2012. She has led cross-functional teams of writers, editors, content managers, developers, vendors, and contractors, and spearheaded the creation of an Editorial PMO.
Eliz has overseen the publication of numerous multi-component educational programs. She also served as Project Manager for a company acquisition at Wayside Publishing (2020–2021), all product launches, and large state educational materials adoption projects—all requiring extensive cross-departmental coordination and compliance oversight.
She earned her PMP® (2023) and CPMAI (2025) certifications and regularly applies AI-driven tools to improve workflow and quality. Proficient in Smartsheet, Jira, Wrike, and other platforms, and fluent in multiple languages, she combines linguistic precision with project management expertise to deliver high-value educational products on time and on budget.
