Join Pittsburgh PMI for a virtual visit to Chatham University! We'll join a meeting of the Chatham University Entrepreneurship Club where we'll learn about the Entrepreneurial Mindset with Professor John Stakeley. Chapter members will share the benefits of project management and how to align project management skills with the students entrepreneurial goals.

 

Dr. John S. Stakeley is an accomplished business leader, mentor and educator recognized for commitment to setting and achieving organizational goals and driving change for over 30 years. He is an expert at building stakeholder teams, branding, implementing rapid transitions, and positively impacting the bottom line. Dr. Stakeley is known for problem-solving, critical thinking, creative disruption, leadership, and strategic management skills.

Dr. Stakeley has significant entrepreneurial and innovation experience with multiple tech start -ups. He is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Peritia, LLC, and Assistant Professor of Management at Chatham University’s department of business and entrepreneurship. He teaches MBA and undergraduate courses in organizational leadership, entrepreneurship, strategy and quantitative analysis. John holds a Doctorate of Science in Information Systems & Communications from Robert Morris University, a Master’s of Science in Leadership & Business Ethics from Duquesne University. His research is focused on employee owned companies.

Dr. Stakeley has served over 24 years in both the PA Army National Guard and the Army Reserve. Deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005, as an Armor Officer fighting a counter insurgency, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. He continues to serve with the 316 Expeditionary Sustainment Command, providing logistics to tens of thousands of warfighters where he is the Assistant Inspector General.
