Mistakes Smart People Make: Business Etiquette to Increase Teamwork and Professionalism (In Person)

Power Skills

Registration for in-person attendance is now closed.  Registration for virtual attendance is open until 2/8 at 5pm.

Project managers need power skills to effectively engage with stakeholders, create a collaborative project team environment, and demonstrate leadership behaviors. Those skills include communication, an innovative mindset, for-purpose orientation, and empathy.

Join the Pittsburgh PMI chapter as we welcome Karen Litzinger to discuss Mistakes Smart People Make: Business Etiquette to Increase Teamwork and Professionalism

Have you ever felt awkward about what to say or do in business social situations? Have you ever been offended by someone’s email reply or perhaps zipped off a response yourself which you later regretted? While we may think we’re putting our best foot forward, smart people sometimes don’t make smart choices. Usually no one around you will tell you since people don’t like to give negative feedback. Best practices in business etiquette can increase professionalism and results with co-workers, teams and other stakeholders.

Consider the following examples:

  • Are you confident that your employees are representing your organization in the best possible light in meetings, networking receptions, or via digital communication?
  • Do you have on-boarding or leadership training programs that could benefit from best practices in business etiquette?
  • Do you really know what your people are saying or doing when interacting with current or prospective stakeholders?
  • Could you or your team use a refresher about best practices in professionalism?

Get ready to learn how to use business etiquette as a power skill to be a more effective project leader!

COVID Note: PMI Pittsburgh event attendees are asked to comply with local, federal and public health guidelines. Attendees are encouraged to acknowledge and respect the health and safety preferences of others. Please keep in mind that health and safety protocols may evolve as the event approaches.

Registration for in-person attendance closes on February 6 at 5pm.
