In these current economic times, we recognize that some of our members will find themselves in a set of changed financial circumstances. To that end, PMI would like to remind members about its ‘Hardship Provision that is available to all qualifying current members, in good standing.

PMI’s hardship provision is available to any member of the ‘PMI Pittsburgh Chapter’ who becomes unemployed. In order to qualify for this provision, the member must be in good standing and must have paid global and chapter dues for the three previous continuous years, or longer.

Under this provision, a member is granted a waiver for one (1) year of PMI membership dues and one (1) year of chapter membership dues for only one (1) chapter that the applicant was a member within this most recent calendar year. The hardship provision may be granted for a maximum of two years (lifetime combined value) for each member.

Details about this program are located on the back of the renewal invoice that all renewing members typically receive. To apply for this waiver, please send an e-mail (click on link)  and explain the nature of your hardship. Please be sure to include a copy of your renewal invoice (if possible).

We encourage our members to renew their membership dues prior to their expiration date.  If a member’s membership has expired for more than 10 months, we cannot renew your membership under guidelines of the ‘Hardship Provision’.

Please remember that any incorrect or untrue statements made by a member are in violation of the Project Management Institute Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and may lead to the initiation of an ethics complaint, including membership forfeiture and other penalties.
