As a Project Manager, do you find yourself juggling managing projects that are strategic in nature vs. operational initiatives? Join Karen Eck for this Breakfast Club where she will provide the opportunity for participants to share their experiences with these two activities to better equip Project Managers with the knowledge to identify, categorize, and manage these different types of projects effectively in a casual and informal atmosphere. Ultimately, participants will take away strategies to contribute to better resource allocation and organizational success.

Karen Eck is currently the Sr. Director of Programs and Services within the Office of Human Resources Office at Carnegie Mellon University. Karen has over 30 years of experience in leading Finance and Human Resources Teams, which includes providing strategic direction to business leaders, hands-on project management, operations management, and consulting for higher education.

Karen is an experienced project manager and team leader with a strong cross-functional background in human resources, information technology, finance, and operations. Experience includes Oracle Financials systems implementation and upgrades, Workday HCM/Payroll project enhancement activities, as well as detailed business process design opportunities. Karen’s hand’s-on experience with project implementations, project and program management, and day-to-day operational oversight has created significant value-add, allowing her to translate business needs into strategic data driven solutions.

In Karen’s current role with the Office of Human Resources, she is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing HR system, process, and operational type projects of all sizes and complexities.
