PMI Experience - Fred Arnold, PMP, PMI Fellow, initially joined PMI during the founding of the PMI Pittsburgh Chapter. Since 1978 Fred Arnold has been an active member and volunteer-leader in PMI. He has received the PMI Distinguished Service Award (1993) and the PMI Fellow Award (1994). Fred Arnold has served in numerous Pittsburgh Chapter officer positions and was the PMI Project Manager for the 1992 Annual Seminar/Symposium hosted in Pittsburgh. Mr. Arnold has continued to provide support to the Institute in local, national, and global areas. He served two terms on PMI’s Ethics Review Committee and was elected by the PMI global membership to serve for two terms on the PMI Board of Directors where he was a leader on the Performance Oversight Committee.
Professional Experience - Fred Arnold led project management support services in several industries (energy, chemical process, financial, manufacturing, environmental, legal and IT), and led several large organizational and business transformation programs and projects and Owners’ management of large mega projects ($1.2billion US, and $4.565billion US). As a profit-center leader Mr. Arnold consistently achieved profitable business operations and was instrumental in the growth of his firm from three to over 2,200. His consulting experience includes a wide range of support to the Pittsburgh region’s largest major projects and companies. After transitioning to primarily IT focused work Fred Arnold co-founded an IT project management and technical services firm in Washington DC. Mostly retired, he currently supports local service-disabled veteran owned small businesses (Dutch Ridge Consulting Group/Brush Creek Solutions) involved in security services. Fred Arnold currently lives in Butler PA with his wife Sherry and nearer to his granddaughters.
