Project Brilliant Sponsored Professional Development Scholarships

The Outreach Committee has partnered with Project Brilliant to establish Professional Development scholarships for the Pittsburgh chapter members. Project Brilliant will sponsor two* scholarships for our members.

*If there are more than 10 applicants, the chapter will grant 2 scholarships; if less than 10 applicants, grant 1 scholarship. The more members apply, the better chance of winning the scholarship. 

The scholarship will be a voucher to participate in

  • Project Brilliant Scrum Alliance Agile Certification 2-day Workshops
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  • Date to be determined by the recipient and Project Brilliant.

Application Process:

Applicants will apply on Pittsburgh chapter website. An independent scholarship application review committee from International Institute of Business Analyst (IIBA) will review the applications to maintain impartiality.

Applicant Criteria:

Any Pittsburgh PMI chapter member is eligible to apply the scholarship. We will use the chapter member roster to verify eligibility.

 Pittsburgh Chapter Milestone Professional Development Scholarships



Congratulations on the PMI Pittsburgh Chapter 40th Year Milestone! This honor exemplifies our chapter’s commitment to the project management profession.

Through the generosity of PMI, the PMI Educational Foundation (PMIEF) has received up to US $3,500 to award professional development scholarships to chapter members in our community who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to project management and wish to enhance their professional capabilities through relevant coursework.

Any Pittsburgh PMI chapter member is eligible to apply the scholarship. We will use the chapter member roster to verify eligibility.

The scholarship application period is now open online. If we do not have enough applicants to make the full award, we will continue to accept applications with quarterly deadlines until the money is spent down or the end of the year arrives.

The PMI Pittsburgh Chapter Milestone Scholarship is hosted on PMIEF website for details and application.

Details about the scholarship:

  • The scholarship funds will be awarded either whole or in part to either one or more individuals.
  • An external panel of PMIEF volunteer judges will review applications to determine scholarship recipients.
  • Scholarship recipients will receive reimbursement for their course once they provide proof of course registration and receipt of payment. ·
  • Both classroom and online courses are eligible for reimbursement.
  • Chapter trainings nor PMI training courses are eligible.

    Reimbursements will only be issued for the cost of one course. Neither textbook nor examination fees will be reimbursed.

Pittsburgh Chapter Academic Scholarship



For the Local University Students in the Pittsburgh geographical coverage area.

The Pittsburgh Chapter Academic Scholarship hosted through PMI Educational Foundation Academic Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to students who wish to obtain degrees from accredited academic institutions. Qualifying degrees may be in project management and related programs, such as: Business Administration; Computer Science; Information Technology/Systems; Project Management; Construction/Industrial Management; Engineering; Government/History; Science

University Students (undergraduate, post graduate) may complete an application to apply concurrently for over 40 scholarships ranging in value from US$1000 to US$7500, including the Pittsburgh Chapter Academic Scholarship. Apply once, PMIEF will consider you for all scholarships for which you meet eligibility criteria.
